Meet the Founders: Inside Limitless Elements, the Garden Oaks Marketing Agency Helping Houston Businesses Grow

If you've been searching for a marketing agency in Garden Oaks or the greater Houston area, you may have come across Limitless Elements, and we wanted to properly introduce ourselves. We sat down with co-founders Gene and Lexi to talk about how the agency started, what makes their approach different, and what local business owners should know before hiring anyone to handle their marketing.

Here's the conversation, in their own words.

How Limitless Elements Got Started

What's the story behind starting Limitless Elements? What was the moment you decided to go all in?

Lexi and Gene first met in 2021 while working as Account Executives at CW39 in Houston. As they worked with businesses across different industries, they noticed a common challenge: many clients wanted to advertise, but they weren't ready. They needed a logo, branding, a website, creative assets, or a clear marketing strategy before investing in television or digital advertising, and those weren't services they could offer in their roles at the time.

“As we continued our careers, we both joined an advertising agency where we gained hands-on experience managing marketing campaigns from start to finish. We learned how to build brands, manage media, analyze performance, and, most importantly, help businesses grow through strategic marketing.” - Lexi

“Those experiences reinforced what we had been talking about for years: businesses needed more than just advertising. They needed a marketing partner who could help them build a strong foundation and make data-driven decisions.” - Gene

In September 2024, while sitting at Sunday Press in Garden Oaks/Oak Forest, we officially put our vision on paper. That's where Limitless Elements took shape.

From day one, our mission has been simple: to become a true marketing partner for our clients. We believe every marketing decision should be backed by strategy, creativity, and data, not guesswork. That's why we focus on helping businesses make informed decisions that lead to measurable growth.

Today, Limitless Elements partners with businesses to provide strategic advertising, media planning, branding, creative production, public relations, and measurable marketing solutions, all with one goal in mind: helping our clients achieve meaningful, long-term growth.

Why "Limitless Elements"? Where did the name come from?

The name came from a brainstorming session where we were simply putting pen to paper and thinking about what we wanted our agency to represent. Two words kept standing out: "Limitless" and "Elements."

Limitless reflects our belief that there are no limits to what a business can achieve with the right strategy, creativity, and execution.

Elements represents the many moving pieces that come together to create a successful marketing campaign. Just like the periodic table is made up of different elements that combine to create something new, marketing is made up of many different elements: strategy, branding, advertising, media, creative, public relations, data, and analytics. When those elements work together, they create powerful results.

The name reminds us that great marketing isn't just one thing. It's the combination of many elements working together, without limits.

Who Are Gene & Lexi?

What part of the work do you personally enjoy most?

Honestly, it's the relationships. We are both people person, so we love sitting down with business owners and hearing their story: why they started their business, what they're passionate about, and where they want to go. Once we understand that, everything else starts to fall into place. The strategy, the creative, and the branding all become much more meaningful because they're built around who the client is, not just what they're selling. That's our favorite part of what we do.

Outside of work, what do you like to do?

Gene: Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family, friends, and my dogs. I also love exploring Houston. Growing up in a small town in the Rio Grande Valley, I wasn't exposed to the diversity of cultures that Houston has to offer. One of my favorite things about living here is experiencing different cultures through the food, festivals, neighborhoods, and the amazing people I've met along the way. It's one of the reasons I love calling Houston home.

Lexi: During my free time, I love spending quality time with my family and friends. Whether we are trying a new restaurant, exploring a new event, or having a new experience together, I am always excited to do something different and create new memories.

I grew up as a military brat, so my family moved around often, and I even had the opportunity to live in Japan. Being exposed to different places and cultures at a young age is where I believe my curiosity and love for trying new things began.

I also enjoy spending time with my dog, Bella Rose. When I have time to myself, I love learning something new, whether that means trying a new recipe, finding a better way to stay organized, picking up a new hobby, or reading a new book.

What's a project you're most proud of, and why?

Gene:
Our first project with F.I.T. Lab Fitness is still one of my favorites because it validated why we started Limitless Elements.

Amy and Robert, the owners, are friends of mine from Mission, Texas. They had been running social media ads and saw great results during their grand opening, but after that initial momentum slowed, the leads started to decline. They weren't sure why.

When Lexi and I took a closer look at the data, we realized they were still targeting the exact same audience they had reached during their grand opening. We researched the market, identified a new audience to target, and adjusted the campaign strategy. Once we shifted the targeting, their lead volume increased again.

That project reminded us why Limitless Elements exists. Great marketing isn't about spending more money. It's about making smarter, data-driven decisions. That's the approach we bring to every client we work with.

Lexi:

I have so many projects that I am proud of, but this example is less about one specific project and more about the ongoing work we have done with Enviable Smiles.

They were one of my first clients when I began working in sales, and they also became one of the first clients to trust us when we launched Limitless Elements. When they first started working with me, they were relying heavily on direct mail and spending a significant amount of money without seeing the new patient growth they wanted. At the time, I recommended that they shift part of their strategy toward streaming advertising to help them reach more people in a more engaging way.

I was involved in every part of the process. I developed the concept, wrote the script, directed the commercial, and helped bring the entire campaign to life. The campaign not only increased exposure for the practice, but it also began driving new patients through their doors.

I will never forget the phone call when they told me that a new patient had come into the office and mentioned that they saw the ad. Even today, they still have patients come in and reference ads that we have created for them.

That ongoing relationship is something I am incredibly proud of because it shows the value of truly understanding a client's needs, creating a customized strategy, and staying involved from the initial idea through execution. Seeing the work turn into real growth, while building long-term trust with the client, is one of the most rewarding parts of what I do.

How Limitless Elements Helps Clients

Walk me through what happens when a new client comes to you. What's the first meeting like?

Once a client signs with us, the first thing we do is schedule an onboarding call. That meeting is all about setting expectations. Where are they at and where do they want to be? We talk through their goals, gather the information and assets we need, explain our process, and outline the next steps. We want our clients to leave that meeting knowing exactly what's going to happen next and feeling excited about the partnership.

What's the biggest mistake you see small businesses make with their marketing before they come to you?

There are two we see all the time.

The first is disorganization. Businesses often don't know where their logins are, who owns their Google Business Profile, who has access to their social media accounts, or in a recent case, if they even own their website. Sometimes those accounts were created years ago by a former employee or another agency, and no one has the passwords. I always tell business owners to keep a secure record of all their logins, know who owns each account, and update passwords regularly. It saves a lot of time and headaches down the road.

The second is thinking they can't afford marketing. I hear it all the time: "We can't afford marketing." Our response is usually, "Can you afford not to market?" Every business has a budget, and it's about investing it wisely. When your marketing is backed by data and a clear strategy, you can make informed decisions and see a return on your investment instead of just hoping something works.

How do you measure whether a campaign is actually working?

For us, it all comes down to data and communication. We're constantly reviewing campaign performance and looking at what's working, what isn't, and where we can improve. At the same time, we stay in close communication with our clients because the numbers only tell part of the story. When you combine analytics with real feedback from the client, you can make smarter marketing decisions.

Advice for Business Owners Choosing a Marketing Agency

If a small business owner is trying to pick a marketing agency, what questions should they ask?

One of the first questions I'd ask is, "Do you require a long-term contract?" We hear from business owners all the time who say, "I want to leave my agency, but I'm locked into a contract." I believe an agency should earn your business every month through results and communication, not because you're obligated to stay. If you're not happy with the partnership, there should be a reasonable way to move on.

I'd also ask how they measure success, how often they'll communicate with you, what reporting you'll receive, and who will actually be managing your account. Those answers will tell you a lot about whether the agency is truly invested in helping your business grow.

What should someone expect to pay, roughly, and what determines that?

Every business is different, so there's really no one-size-fits-all price. We work with businesses of all sizes and budgets, and our recommendations are based on their goals, the services they need, and how quickly they want to grow. This can be anywhere from $3,500 - $8,000+ a month depending on the scope of services. Some clients need some design work, while others need video, editing, social media management and SEO. We also understand that cash flow matters, so we offer flexible payment options, including monthly, bi-weekly, or weekly payments, to make our services more accessible.

What's a sign that an agency isn't a good fit?

One of the biggest signs is a lack of communication and transparency. Your marketing agency should keep you informed about what's happening with your campaigns: what's working, what's not, and what they're doing to improve results. If you're constantly wondering what's going on, or only hear from them when it's time to send an invoice, that's a red flag. At a minimum, you should receive regular reports and have a monthly conversation about your marketing performance and next steps. Also, if you’re always the one starting the conversation, then it’s probably not a good fit.

What can a business owner do on their own before hiring anyone?

Take the time to understand your business first. Ask yourself: Who are my current customers? Why do they choose us? What are they saying in reviews? Where are they coming from? That information is incredibly valuable: it helps you identify your ideal customer and gives any agency a stronger foundation to build from. The more you know about your audience and your business, the more successful your marketing will be.

Ready to Talk?

If someone's on the fence about reaching out, what would you say to them?

We'd say, don't be afraid to reach out. Having a conversation doesn't mean you're making a commitment. We like to compare it to going on a first date: you get to know us, and we get to know you. We learn about your business, your goals, and whether we're the right fit for each other. Sometimes you know right away it's a great match, and sometimes you realize it's not. Either way, there's value in having the conversation.

Anything you want people to know about Limitless Elements that doesn't usually come up?

I think a great marketing agency is both a great teacher and student. We love working with clients who are curious and want to learn, because it creates a better partnership. Conversely, we are constantly growing with ever changing trends, softwares and platforms, so we are also learning everyday. We don't just send reports. We explain them. We want our clients to understand what's working, what's not, and why we're making certain recommendations. When our clients grow their marketing knowledge, everyone wins.
